This image is typical of scenes in the Cosumnes River Wildlife Preserve, California. The Cosumnes River, in the Central Valley and only 80 miles long, has frequent winter and spring overflows which foster the growth of native plants and wildlife. Hundreds of species of birds and plants are found in the preserve which encompasses and protects thousands of acres of wetlands and woods. I liked the patterns and reflections made by the waterlogged trees and marsh grasses.
