While experimenting with unusual techniques, I tried vertically panning the camera with a slow shutter speed. It allowed me to create this impressionistic expression of a fall aspen grove I shot in Montana. I like the blurry illusion which mimics a watercolor painting. Aspens, with their straight and tightly spaced trunks, provide a perfect subject for this maneuver.
