Early Light On Cho Oyu And The Third Gokyo Lake II Print
The tip of Cho Oyu in the Mt. Everest region of Nepal glows pink with alpenglow as the first light of day reaches its 27,000 foot high Himalayan summit. Dudh Pokhari, the third of several moraine lakes along the Ngozumpa Glacier, reflects Cho Oyu bathed in predawn light. Dudh Pokhari is also the site of Gokyo, an unlikely selection of lodges situated on the shore at nearly 16,000 feet. The lodges, almost invisible in this icy scene, provide room and board for trekkers in an extreme but magnificent terrain.
