With just a hint of evening light creating shadows on the shore, this rock formation is dreamlike and surreal. Carved by relentless wave action the rugged seascape along the Oregon Coast at Shore Acres State Park, is a delight to photograph. Shore Acres was originally an estate owned by timber baron, Louis Simpson who sold it to the state in 1942. It now boasts 5 acres of spectacular gardens and is a popular area for gray whale and storm watching. The rocky and rugged shoreline has one secluded sandy beach often frequented by picnickers.
