Watchman Peak stands guard at the entrance of Zion National Park in Utah. It rises 2600 feet higher that the Virgin River which helped carve it and continues to run past its base. Streams in this desert are one of Zion's outstanding features, a life force in this otherwise harsh environment. Bathed in evening light the scene takes on a cooler palate of blues and purples in contrast to the bright sun colors of daylight.
