These rock formations, called hoodoos, are in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. I noticed this formation one afternoon and envisioned it with the rising sun emerging through one of the holes in the rock. I returned the next morning before sunrise to be in position. The sun was only in position for a few moments, so I had to work quickly. The canyon wall to my back reflected light onto the shaded side of the hoodoo that was facing me so that it appeared to glow.
