Chad - I'm not sure that high ISO will make fast lenses obsolete because no matter what advantage you get from high ISO you can always get one or two additional stops of speed with a fast lens. Also, the shallow depth of field offered by fast lenses will always be important to some photographers. High ISO performance combined with fast lenses just give photographers so many more possibilities.

I use a EOS 5D and have been thinking of upgrading to the new Mark II 5D but it's a little expensive and thought about waiting for one more new model to come out. I know what you mean about the ISO on the original 5D and although it was great when it first hit the market the newer models have long passed it up. I really do look forward to using a newer model with the ability to use a higher ISO then 100 and not have to worry about noise as much.

Good article and examples!
