After The Harvest III Stock Image, Palouse Region, Washington

During a fall photo trip in 2005 I traveled through the amazing Palouse area of Washington. It is a major wheat-producing agricultural area about 160 miles north of the Oregon Trail. Harvesting equipment creates repeating patterns across the landscape as they cut the wheat during the harvest season. It is best to photograph the patterns in early morning or late afternoon when the sun is low in the sky and the shadows accentuate the lines.
