The Coquille River Lighthouse in Bandon, Oregon is one of the most photographed buildings in the state. Commissioned in 1896 the lighthouse was designed to guide mariners around the dangerous bar at the mouth of the river. Winter storms bring piles of wood to the Bandon beach which bleach to white and gray in the sun and salt air creating interesting artworks of nature. The scene is especially striking set against a crystal blue sky.
