Images from the edge
Waves of sand, some rippling and some smooth, are enhanced by deep, dark shadows to create ever-changing patterns in Death Valley National Park, California. These dunes were photographed at Stovepipe Wells. Death Valley, located along the border of California and Nevada is the lowest, driest and hottest place in the United States.
