Evening light illuminates Blue Camas (Camassia quamash) flowers blooming in the summer in the Cascade Range of southern Oregon. Blue Camas was an important food staple for Native Americans and settlers in the West. Emerging in early spring, it can frequently be seen in large numbers in moist meadows, forests and rocky outcrops.
