Fairy Falls is one of many well known cascades in the Columbia Gorge Wilderness Area in northern Oregon. This waterfall is particularly unique for the way it tumbles down a basalt buttress that is shaped in a way that causes the stream to spread out into a delicate curtain. Mist from the falling water continually bathes the verdant moss and ferns.
