The Towers of the Virgin, including the Alter of Sacrifice, are some of the tallest rock faces in Zion National Park. They catch the first light of dawn while the lower reaches of the valley are still in darkness which makes them appear to glow with heat. This image is stitched from seven separate photos to create a super high resolution photograph.
