Picturesque Little Redfish Lake in Idaho with the Sawtooth Range in the background. This image was taken just before sunrise with a 30 second exposure in near dark conditions. It was a crisp 20 degree morning and very still and quiet. The bright halo in the sky is agricultural haze blowing in from farmlands to the west. Little Redfish Lake is on the northeast edge of the Sawtooths five miles south of Stanley in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Its elevation is 6489 feet and is about a mile downstream from the larger Redfish Lake. Both were named for the red-scaled sockeye salmon that return every year to spawn via the Salmon River.
